Valentines Tea

Every year Mrs. Ash (Aspens teacher) put on

Valentines Day Tea Party for the kids and

their parents. The kids served us cookies and punch.

Aspen and a blast. It was nice to sit with

Aspens friends and their parents.

Since I am so amazing and help/volunteer

for everything.... I was in charge of the

center pieces. This is one thing I could have done

without. You try making center pieces for thirteen

tables that is cheap and fast. Thank heavens

for my mom cause she came up with this cute idea.

This little guy turned 11 months on the 14th.

Tylers 30 Birthday!!!

February 11th 1982 Tyler was born.

November 14th 2004 Tyler returned to heaven.

Sunday February 12th 2012 I gave him a

birthday party.

To celebrate Tyler's birthday I had my family

come over for dinner and cake. We wrote little

notes, tied them to balloons and let them go

at the cemetery. It is so comforting to be able

to be with my family and remember Tyler.

My siblings (some of them anyways).

Hyrum, Me, Tyson, and Lacey. We missed

my siblings that weren't able to be there.

Ryan is in Colorado, Tyler is in Heaven, and Kyle

was in Hawaii.

Crazy Hair Day

Since I had to work, Grandma Jan did

Aspens hair for crazy hair day at school.

Trent cut wire the night before so

Grandma could put crazy braids in

Aspens hair. Oh but wait, Remember,

Aspen just chop her hair off!!!! Grandma

Jan did her best to braid the short hair

how Aspen wanted it. It turned out better

then I expected. Plus Aspen was happy and thats

all that matters, Right?

Hair Cut

One day last week Trent went to get a hair cut. I

sent Aspen with him so she could get a trim.

(Aspen has been trying to grow her out

so it will fit in a pony tail for soccer and

gymnastics.) Aspen did not want to go

get her hair cut. After I explain that is just a trim

she felt good about things. Low and behold...

When Aspen sits in the chair, she tells the hair

dresser to chop it off. Trent of course is clueless and

wouldn't even care if Aspen shaved it. Now Aspen has

a cute bob. I like it, but, Aspen better not complain

about having short hair cause its her own fault.

Aspen had her seven year well check-up...

Weight= 54lbs=75%

Height=48in=50%

She has 20/40 vision in both eyes and has to

see an eye doctor. The last couple years the doctor

has asked if she comes from a really big dad, I laugh

every time and say, "her dad is tall but thin".

All looks well and she is as healthy as a horse.

Aspens actual birthday was on Sunday the 8th.

After our church she opened presents

from Dad, Mom, Raider and Bayli/Bronco/Brigham.

In the evening we had the Gray and Turner family

come over for cake and ice cream. It was a fun filled

day. Aspen is so loved by many people.

As I already mentioned, Christmas Eve

my kids get a gift from Jingles and one from

each other. On Christmas morning they get

clothes from Mom and Dad and three gifts

from Santa (Christ himself only got three gifts).

Aspens three gifts were-

1. A Nintendo DS w/games

2. Cowgirl hat and boots

3. Princess ZuZu toys

Raiders three gifts were-

1. Balls

2. CAT construction truck

3. A remote control airplane thing

that teaches you shapes and colors.

After we had breakfast the day went like this...

The Turners came to our house, we went to

the Grays, the Grays went to visit Grandma Gray, The

Grays came to our house, we went to the Turners.

Some how Raider was able to get in his naps!!!

My kids got too much stuff from grandparents

and cousins to even list. It was an awesome weekend.

We decided to have a quiet Christmas eve at home

alone this year. It was so nice.

Christmas Choir Concert

Aspen joined her school choir at the beginning

of the school year. The choir puts on two concerts.

Last night we were able to watch the Christmas

concert. The choir was good, great song choice,

Aspen herself could have done better.

Raiders Burn :-(

On Tuesday November 22 Raider got a nasty burn on his left hand

from our heater. We took him to the pediatrician, she put cream on it

and wrapped it. The pediatrician said it was a third degree burn.

She was worried his hand would heal in a curled up ball,

if this happened he would never be able to extend is hand. She set us

up an appointment with a burn specialist the next day.

Trent and I took Raider to Doc. Jones, the specialist.

Right when he unwrapped it he said "oh, he will be fine".

Doc. Jones said it was a second degree burn. He re wrapped it,

told us to come back in a week so he can cut the blisters off,

clean and wrap it again. Raiders poor hand will be in a wrap

for a few weeks plus his hand will be pink and sensitive for a

couple months!!! So far Raider has been a champ. He gets frustrated

cause he has to army crawl, and he can only use one hand to pull

himself up on things and to play with toys.

Its hard on me cause I have to make

sure he is not sucking or picking at his wrapped

hand. I also cant let his hand get wet.

Today has been great fall weather so what better

thing to do then go to the cemetery? I was 32

weeks pregnant with Aspen when Tyler passed away,

yet, Aspen still knows Tyler through pictures she has

seen and stories she has heard.

I want both my children to know their uncle Tyler.

I have no doubt that Tyler and Raider were together

in heaven but this was Raiders first encounter

of Tyler on earth. I hope to keep Tyler's memory

alive forever.......

Stillwell Gray passed away. Words can not

describe how I feel. I love and miss him so much,

We did a lot of Halloween activities this year.

1. We went to my parents ward party.

2. We went to our ward trunk-or-treat.

3. Aspen had a school Halloween concert and

her class party(of coarse I helped).

4. I ran the Halloween half marathon.

5. Finally we went trick-or-treating.

6. Plus both our families had Halloween dinners

during the week.

The first door we went to was my Grandma Grays

house. She is always so happy when family comes

to visit.

Since Aspen got her tonsils out we have

been watching a lot of movies, reading a

lot of books and eating a lot of otter pops.

I put raider down for a nap but he kept

making odd little noises. It was a debate

whether I should peek in his room or not,

If he was sleeping I didn't want to wake him.

Of coarse I crack the door and find Raider

peeking out the window.

Between strep throat and pink eye, Aspen has been

home more then usual. Plus the weather being

so cold we have nothing better to do then to take pictures,

(not really, there is always stuff to do). For some

good news though... Raider is scooting!!!

Its almost an army crawl but not quite.

Can you see the things behind Aspens head?

That is a card system Aspen learned at school so

she thought we should do it at home. If you yell, say

something mean, or do anything bad you have to pull

a card. Their are three colors of cards and when

you get to the last one you have to take a time-out.

We don't really use this card system.

At our house you don't get three chances.

I let Aspen keep it on our wall just to humor her.

Autumn is by far the best season ever!!!

The leaves changing colors, no more sweating,

grey Sky's, hot soups, wrapping up in a

blanket with a great book, hot tubs, long

runs in the crunching leaves, less daytime,

one more of my favorite things about Fall is

get enough of Raider. She makes him

smile more then anyone else.

Back in gymnastics. Aspen really

wants to be able to do the splits, back bend,

and a good handstand. We hope gymnastic

will help her make her goals.

Raider is six months old already!!!

Length- 27inches = 75% (Aspen was 25 3/4)

Weight- 15lbs 7oz = 10% (Aspen was 16lbs 4oz)

Head Circ- 43.2cm = 25% (Aspen was 41.3cm)

Raider is totally sitting on his own.

I have never seen him roll all the way over yet.

Because of his weight, we started feeding him at night again,

I hope only til his next appointment.

He has had, Peas, Green Beans and Carrots, so far

none of them have been a hit. He better get use to it

because a picky eater will not fly in my house.

and got pedicures (my very first one ever).

Aspen also came home with a new hair cut.

Trent and Aspen were racing and sure enough,

someone got hurt. Who was it? Aspen!! Aspen made a sharp

turn trying to keep up with her dad and her 4-wheeler

tipped over and rolled on her. She has a bruise

on her leg and scratches on her stomach. This my

friend is why I don't mess around. Trent might call me

a stick in the mud but I would rather read my book then

play rough and get hurt.

The tooth Fairy came to our camp!!!! Aspen lost

her first tooth, mostly cause Trent kept pulling on it.

Utah Valley Half Marathon.....

Half Marathons are my favorite races, they are

challenging but nothing like a "kill me now full marathon".
I ran it in 1 hour 57 minutes (that's a 9 minute mile).

So far that has been my slowest half marathon time but I did just

have a baby less then three months ago. I am running

another half marathon in August, i hope my time

gets back to normal by then.

Raider has been doing this lately. I have mixed

feelings about thumb sucking. when I see him doing

this, I gently take out the thumb and replace it

with a binker.

Other than Aspen being cute I really don't have

anything good to say about the dance festival.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and my bad

attitude stuck with me.

Whether I walk or drive I am always one of the first parents at the school waiting for my child. One, because I don't want anyone else to snatch her. Two, because I don't want her to worry and Three, just because I am a person early to everything. Yesterday was a different story.. I was at my moms just chatting away, I knew I had to get going but I totally had time so I wasn't in a rush. As I left my moms to make the twenty minute drive home it was raining hard, rain turned to slush, slush turned to snow and traffic was hardly moving. I wasn't worried yet, I just knew I would not be the first mom today, I was only going to be five or ten minutes late. As I round the corner to her school it looks like a ghost town, I don't see anyone! Now I start to worry! I pull up front and there is my beautiful girl huddled under an umbrella with a (mean) teacher ( why they were not waiting inside, it makes me mad they made her wait in the snow). Aspen comes running towards me and has fear and disappointment written all over her face. The second she gets in my car I see her hair, jacket, shirt and pants are soaked, her hands and cheeks are freezing!! She asked me in such a sad voice what took me so long. I try to explain to my six year old about the weather and traffic, she just stares at me with the saddest look in her eyes. I quit talking and asked how she felt. She thought that I was at the hospital having this baby and her dad didn't know it was early out. She said she felt so alone, my heart broke. She goes on to tell me that she wanted to call me but she felt dumb asking to use the phone. Then she says, " I tried to be brave and not cry mom, but I did have one tear run down my cheek". By this point my heart is shattered, I felt so bad I was fighting back my own tears. We hurry home so we can put her in warm dry clothes. When we walked in the door I got on my knees and gave her the longest hug ever, she said it was OK and that she was over it. Twenty-four hours later, I am still not over it. Although I promised her it would never happen again, we practiced what she should do just in case.... I love you Aspen

1. Here we are at 40 weeks

2. Im 3 centimeters dilated

3. I have gained 50 lbs

4. My due date is tomorrow (the 7th). I will be

induced on Thursday the 10th if he hasn't

come yet.

5. My back has never hurt so badly in my life

Aspen just had to hold a baby picture of

herself.

1. Thirty Eight weeks down, two more to go!!!

2. Total weight gain=46lbs

3. I am dilated to a one and a half. ( I

never dilated early with Aspen)

4. I cant wear any of my rings, had to loosen my

watch again, and my shoes leave marks

on my feet.

5. The heart beat is fantactic and he is

still very active even though he hardly

has any room to move around in.

1. Here I am at almost 36 weeks

2. I have gained a total of 40 pounds so far.

(I gained 52 with Aspen)

3. My face is getting so big

4. I get up two or more times a night to use

the bathroom.

5. Im lucky if I make it to the gym three times a week.

6. His heart beat is awesome

7. My bladder and ribs are constantly being kicked.

Thats not a complaint, just a fact.

On January 8th my best girl turned six years old!!!

Her birthday fell on a Saturday this year so we

decided to have a birthday breakfast at my moms. Both

the Turners and Grays were there, we ate yummy

Apple Pie stuffed french toast with lots of

fresh fruit and juice. After the party Trent

and I took Aspen to build a bear (we have gone a couple

times and she always wanted the hello kitty, but never

was able to get it) today she finally got the Hello Kitty.

It was a great family day. We love you buckets

and barrels Aspen.

1. I am 32 weeks

2. My placenta is moving, I wont be having a c-section

3. As you can see I'm starting to swell...gross

4. 5 more pounds, 38 total

5. My baby's measurements are in the 70

percentile/measuring just over a week from my

due date.

6. I am done working til April!!!!!

Happy New Years!!! We went to the annual

Turner party. I have been going to this party

since I was sixteen!! They have a ton of food

and games. It is the one and only night I stay up

past eight o'clock. This year my parents came

and even stayed the whole time, I never thought

that would happen. I got lazy at taking pictures

so you get what you get and don't throw a fit.
